The $11 million restoration of the Rawdon Island Bridge is now complete.
Thanks to the hard work of Port Macquarie Hastings Council and their partners, including Focus Bridge Engineering (a division of MLEI Consulting Engineers!), the bridge is now safe for the island residents and businesses to access. This 18-month, highly engineered and complex project was a major milestone for PMHC, and we’re thrilled to see it come to fruition.
Focus Bridge Engineering performed the structural assessment, load testing as well as the design, supervision, procurement, and project administration for the rehabilitation construction. Senior Bridge Engineer James O’Connor said, “Our analysis and testing demonstrated early on that the bridge could sustain one lane of light traffic, which led to the partial re-opening of the bridge 2 months later to provide urgent access to the outside world.”
